Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf
It is Sunday and time to relax (I hope its true). I am here at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – Ayala and I find the place suitable if you want to relax and muster your thoughts. People here are quite. Usually they are reading books while some are surfing the net.
Talking about surfing, they have this membership card called Swirl Rewards Card for those who wants to connect to their network. It is valid for 1 year and of course it is not free. You have to pay 195 for the membership. No more free this time. The connection is considerable fast and it is unlimited so you can stay here until you drop. Compared to last night at Seattle’s Best Coffee, here you can truly relax.
Seattle’s Best Coffee
This is my second time to stay here in Seattle’s Best Coffee-Ayala and I feel like I hate the place this time. I am here writing this blog while sipping a cold classic mocha. In fairness the coffee is great. I love the taste, really.
The first time I was here was last week. It was around 9 in the morning and I stayed for more than 5 hours. I had my breakfast there and the food is not bad but not exceptional either considering the price. At that time I like the place because it is quite. Tonight, it is different. Maybe because it is nighttime? Probably! But the people are so noisy! It is like a market place. At one corner you can hear a group of people talking about business. Some families and friends talking about their stuffs while those Koreans laugh louder than it should be. I mean considering it is a coffee shop.
Anyway, I am happy that the internet connection here is fast. No lag time and it is unlimited to the last drop of your battery power. I am glad I am using my HP Pavilion Entertainment PC whose battery lasts longer than my other laptops.
Jose Karlo
It is located along Juan Luna corner Zamora Streets across Sto. Niño Church, Tacloban City.
The Services
Their prices is comparatively cheaper than their competitors, but their limited WiFi offer is a disadvantage if you want a long period of connectivity to the Internet. They only offer one hour limited WiFi connection for every customer, and you need to secure an access card available after purchase before you get connected.
They also have computers for rent in case you want to surf the net but you do not have the laptop. But I guess you have to pay per hour for it. (I did not ask)
The Place
What I like in Jose Carlo is the interior design. It is unique and has an antique-like theme. I guess it is an ancestral home converted into a coffee shop. You have the choice to stay inside (ground floor or 2nd floor) and be cool with the air conditioner or stay outside and feel the natural breeze of air. Very nice place. Very much commendable.
Service Crew
The people behind the desk are not so accommodating. The cashier always plays the farm game on facebook! Service style is self-service. This means that you have to go up and down the stairs if you are at the second floor and you want to buy something.
